He has been providing this highly effective online saxophone service for a number of years and has students from Brisbane to Bogota, not to mention even a few amazing students within a five mile radius from his studio!
With his incredible culmination of experience at teaching via online platforms, Ian has developed a fantastic way for a student to learn as if they are sat in the same room but with the added flexibility to have the lesson wherever and whenever the student wishes (as long as there is a decent internet connection) and without the 'stress' of travel or the disruption of having someone come around to your home.
Skype/FaceTime online saxophone lessons are ideally suited for the advancing beginner (playing for 6 months) and for any student (amateur, music college, semi-professional or professional) wishing to progress or maintain their playing level. They can be used as standalone tutoring or as a supplement to a student's existing lessons for a "make sure I'm on the right track" service.
Online saxophone lessons can also be used purely for fun to learn new techniques, play duets and learn new repertoire.
Many of Ian's students have used the online music lessons to progress through the standard ABRSM and Trinity music examination syllabus (from Grade 1 to Grade 8 and Diploma) with a current 100% pass rate.
The first 30 minute lesson is completely free and then the student can decide whether to order future 30 minute or 1 hour sessions in packages of 5 or 10 lessons.
Prices are currently £14 (GBP) for a 30 minute lesson and £28 (GBP) for a 1 hour lesson.
Payment is via the secure PayPal portal in advance and any lessons disrupted by scenarios such as loss of connection will be made up without further cost at a mutually convenient time.
For younger pupils, Ian holds a current and full DBS check certificate and highly recommends a responsible adult is present for any lessons to students below 16 years old. Please be aware that all lessons are archive recorded to provide an extra level of safety for both tutor and student (however, all personal data is fully protected and never shared).
Any additional lesson materials required by the student, that can not be purchased from outside sources, will be provided prior to a lesson via email.
The student should ensure that they have a good quality and fast internet connection of at least 10Mbps. Obviously another requirement is for a student to have microphone and video functionality via their computer, laptop, tablet or telephone.
For more informaton, please do not hesitate to use the Enquiry Form and Ian will quickly answer any question that you may have about online saxophone lessons either by email or, if your prefer, by calling back on Skype or FaceTime for a one to one discussion of your requirements.
